This
is an attempt to document the visual history of some Hauerslev family
members through the use of old tainted stills. It is mainly done for my own interest
sake, and to be able to tell my
children about "the old days". As a little boy, my knowledge of
the Hauerslev history was limited to the "excitement" of knowing
there were two small Danish towns by the name "Haverslev" and
that my granddad had 12
siblings (wow!!).
I never had a big family - it was limited to my parents, their parents and
of course my siblings, Henrik and Rasmus.
Fortunately, the family is now growing and a simple query on the internet
gives you names and addresses of
many
other hauerslevs.
My interest in genealogy was re-activated when my father
asked me to reply to a letter from
Tammy Høy
McIntire in Kansas City (USA), who originally had addressed the letter
to my mother. Read her notes about
Bothilde
Hauerslev.
Unfortunately, I never finished my family history talks with my dad, when
he suddenly passed away in 2003. I inherited
some old photos in an album from him with tainted stills which I will gradually post
here.

My work is continuously
inspired by Tammy's enthusiasm for genealogy and I have only scratched the surface of Hauerslev genealogy.
Luckily, there are people out
there who are far more knowledgeable about this than I am, and you will
probably be a able to spot mistakes here and there. My work is always to
be considered a "work in progress" and from time to time, I will
add new images and information.
Please, feel free to write your own "Hauerslev Story" and send
it to me for publication here on hauerslev.com.
